Anne Viselli, MD Joins Women’s Center & Copley HospitalFor immmediate release07/20/2009
Dr. Anne Viselli, a gynecologist specializing in urinary incontinence and problem gynecologic care, has joined The Women’s Center and Copley Hospital in Morrisville. She is dedicated to providing women of all ages with routine well-woman care along with the most up-to-date diagnostic testing and treatment options for conditions that affect the female pelvic organs and pelvic floor.
Dr. Viselli explains that she began specializing in Urogynecology to avoid the tendency to compartmentalize care. “It is easy for health care to get fragmented,” she explains. “I’m attracted to Urogynecology because it brings all the pelvic organs together – the reproductive organs, rectum and the bladder – in a supportive way. It enables me to treat my patient as a whole rather than just treat one part of their problem.”
Some of the conditions a Urogynecolgist treats include: urinary leakage, descent of the pelvic organs, trouble urinating, urinary tract infections, painful urethra and/or bladder, urinary frequency and/or urgency, blood in the urine, bowel difficulties and/of fecal leakage, heavy menstrual bleeding and female sexual dysfunction.
Empowering women to be more informed about their health and more informed about their health care decisions is a guiding philosophy that Dr. Viselli shares with The Women’s Center and Copley. “I appreciate the staff at The Women’s Center and Copley Hospital,” said Dr. Viselli. “They’re excited to see you and they focus on providing compassionate, comprehensive, client-centered care in a relaxed, professional environment.”
Dr. Viselli completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Women and Infants' Hospital in Providence, RI in 1992 and her fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in 1993. Dr. Viselli, formerly a member of the academic faculty at Fletcher Allen Health Care opened her private practice in Williston, Vermont Women’s Wellness, in 2005. She is a member of the American Urogynecologic Society, the International Continence Society, the International Urogynecologic Association and is a volunteer physician for International Volunteers in Urology, a non-profit organization committed to providing quality urologic care to developing countries.
